Mini MegaDrive/Gensis
« on: April 05, 2019, 08:19:39 AM »
http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/03/sega_mega_drive_mini_launches_worldwide_this_september

I believe this was announced last year but the details were incredibly vague until now as Sega was floored by the response they got from us Westerners and wanted to do it right unlike the Mini Psone.......

Worldwide release is September 19th, it will come with 40 iconic Sega games, you can grab it with one or 2 control pads both usb based, M2 is handling the emulation software side of things, legendary Sega Composer Yuzo Koshiro is doing the Menu music!!!!!! it will come with all the usual things we've come to expect from mini consoles, hdmi port, 4 save slots, ability to change languages, they've confirmed the first 10 titles for both Japan, USA/UK regions.

Originally Sega wanted to do 30 games but had a hard time choosing so they expanded it to 40 which I think is great as they have sooooooooooo many great titles to pick from it'll be interesting to see what the remaining titles are there's too many to choose from!

I recall them mentioning that there would be a slot for the original cartridges, and the possibility that i could finally play X-MEN properly with that reset trick on the last level.

It would be nice, since it's almost impossible to get the game to run properly otherwise. Either they add a proper cart slot, OR they emulate the game properly on the console itself, or even edit out that line of code that needs you to reset the system to get it to move on to the next level.
Sincerely,

Sir Logan Johnson, Esq. XIII.

okay i've updated the US/UK list as the japan release is almost identical except for Game no Kanzume Otokoyou which is a sega japan channel only compilation that most of us would never have played anyway, they haven't revealed any new info other that announcing the next 10 games looks like they will be drip feeding us the last 20 games till release
